A plain-English look at how booking with us works — what you can expect from Feathered Friends Vaughan, and what we'll need from you so your bird gets the best possible stay.
Last updated: June 2026
These terms cover the bird sitting, boarding, and grooming services Feathered Friends Vaughan provides to bird owners in Vaughan and the surrounding communities. They're written to set clear, fair expectations on both sides — not to bury you in fine print. When you book a stay or a grooming visit with us, you're agreeing to the approach laid out below. If anything here is unclear, just ask; we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.
Everything starts with a conversation. You reach out through our contact form, by email, or by phone, and tell us about your bird and the dates you have in mind. From there:
We don't believe in flattening every bird into one rate. Each quote is built around your bird's species, the length of stay, the type of visit, and any add-ons or special care involved, which is why we give you a real figure for your bird rather than a one-size-fits-all price. A quote we provide is based on the information you share with us; if the actual needs turn out to be different — a longer stay, extra birds, medication we weren't told about — we'll talk with you about adjusting it before going ahead. Any add-on grooming such as nail trims, wing work, or beak conditioning is quoted alongside the boarding so there are no surprises.
Great care depends on honest, complete information. As your bird's owner, you agree to:
Withholding important health or behaviour information doesn't just risk a difficult stay — it can put your bird at risk. We always do better work when we have the full picture.
Your bird's wellbeing guides every decision we make. We care for the birds in our charge attentively and follow the routines you share with us. That said, birds can be sensitive and sometimes unpredictable, and if your bird shows signs of illness or distress during a stay, we will make reasonable efforts to reach you right away. If we genuinely cannot reach you and your bird needs help, you authorise us to seek appropriate veterinary care on your behalf, with any related costs being your responsibility as the owner. We'll always act in good faith and in your bird's best interest.
Life shifts, travel plans change, and we understand that. Because confirmed dates set aside time and space we could otherwise offer another bird, we ask that you give us as much notice as you reasonably can if you need to cancel or reschedule. Get in touch as early as possible and we'll do our best to be flexible and find a solution that works. Specific cancellation arrangements for longer or peak-season stays will be discussed and agreed with you at the time of booking, so you'll always know where you stand before you commit.
We'll arrange drop-off and pick-up timing together when your booking is confirmed. Please bring your bird in its own clean, secure cage or carrier where possible, along with the food and any comfort items we've agreed on. If your plans change while you're away and you need to extend the stay, let us know as early as you can and we'll do our best to accommodate it, subject to availability and an adjusted quote.
We look after every bird as if it were our own, with genuine care and attention. At the same time, it's important to be realistic about animals. By boarding your bird with us, you acknowledge that:
None of this changes the simple truth that your bird's safety and comfort are our priority every single day of its stay.
Our grooming — nail trims, wing clipping, beak conditioning, and feather care — is carried out gently and only with your consent for the specific service. We'll talk through options like wing clipping rather than assume, because the right choice depends on your bird and your home. Grooming on an anxious or unwell bird is always approached cautiously, and we'll pause and check in with you if we feel a service isn't in the bird's best interest that day.
From time to time we love to share a charming photo of a guest on our website or social media. We'll only ever do this with your okay, and never in a way that identifies you. If you'd prefer we keep your bird's stay entirely private, just say so and we'll respect that completely.
Feathered Friends Vaughan serves bird owners across Vaughan and nearby communities, including Woodbridge, Kleinburg, Maple, Concord, Thornhill, Vellore, and Nashville. If you're just outside this area, reach out anyway — we'll let you know honestly whether we can help.
We may refine these terms over time as our service grows, and when we do we'll update this page and the date at the top. The version in effect when you book is the one that applies to that stay.
