We're a family of bird lovers based in Woodbridge, and we built Feathered Friends Vaughan because we believe every bird deserves attentive, knowledgeable care when their owner can't be there.
Feathered Friends Vaughan started as a passion project by a Woodbridge family with a love for parrots. What began with caring for a neighbour's cockatiel during a holiday trip quickly grew into something much bigger. Word spread through Woodbridge, then Kleinburg, then Maple — and before we knew it, families across Vaughan were asking us to look after their birds.
We invested in creating a purpose-built bird room in our home: spacious enclosures, full-spectrum lighting, air purification, and enrichment stations tailored to different species. We studied avian behaviour, attended workshops at the Ontario Avicultural Society, and connected with local avian veterinarians to ensure we could handle any situation with confidence.
Today, we've cared for hundreds of birds from across Vaughan and the surrounding GTA. Our family has grown to include a small team of trained caregivers, but the philosophy remains the same: treat every bird like a member of our own flock. We're proud that so many Vaughan families trust us with their feathered companions, and we work hard every day to earn that trust.
Every decision we make starts with what's best for the bird. Comfort, safety, and emotional well-being guide everything we do in our Vaughan home.
We keep you informed at every step — from daily updates to honest feedback about your bird's behaviour. No surprises, just open communication.
Avian care is always evolving. We stay current through workshops, veterinary partnerships, and hands-on experience with dozens of species every year.
We're part of the Vaughan community — from Woodbridge to Kleinburg. We build lasting relationships with the families and birds we serve.
Our approach is simple: observe, adapt, and nurture. Before your bird's first stay, we conduct a detailed intake to learn about their diet, sleep patterns, favourite toys, triggers, and personality quirks. We document everything so every team member delivers consistent care.
During the stay, we maintain a structured daily log and adjust our approach based on how your bird is settling in. We believe the best bird care comes from patience, routine, and genuine affection — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Elena started Feathered Friends Vaughan after a decade of caring for her own flock of parrots and cockatiels. A lifelong Woodbridge resident, she holds certifications in avian first aid and has completed specialized training in parrot behaviour and enrichment. She personally oversees every intake and manages the care plans for all guests.
Daniel designed and built the purpose-built bird room in their Woodbridge home, from the HEPA filtration system to the custom stainless steel enclosures. He manages the facility's daily operations, handles equipment maintenance, and coordinates scheduling. His calm demeanour makes him a favourite with the more anxious birds.
Tanya joined the team after volunteering at a parrot rescue in the GTA for three years. She has hands-on experience with over forty species and specializes in caring for birds with behavioural challenges, including plucking and fear-based aggression. Her patience and gentle approach help nervous birds settle in quickly during their Vaughan stays.
